Rivertowns United fields teams from U9 through U19 across Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Hastings-on-Hudson and the surrounding river towns. Our travel teams compete across multiple divisions of the Westchester Youth Soccer League (WYSL) and the EDP, specifically the New York Club Soccer League (NYCSL).
Dedicated NYCFC professional trainers and committed parent volunteer coaches help elevate individual and team skill levels. Our teams compete at appropriately competitive tiers of league play, and our coaches promote a positive approach to player and team development. We strive to promote love and respect for the beautiful game of soccer.
Travel games run September through November in the fall, and March/April through June in the spring. There are generally no league games over holiday weekends, although some teams participate in tournaments.

Age Level and Corresponding Birth Year for Fall 2024 / Spring 2025 Travel Teams
The United States Soccer Federation (USSF), which governs the WYSL and NYCSL/EDP, mandates that travel teams are formed by birth year. Since RUFC teams play in those leagues, our teams are formed by birth year.
U9 teams — 2016-born players
U10 teams — 2015-born players
U11 teams — 2014-born players
U12 teams — 2013-born players
U13 teams — 2012-born players
U14 teams — 2011-born players
U15 teams — 2010-born players
JV and Varsity teams — combination of HS birth years (2010 and older)
* Qualified players a year younger may play up, but players cannot play down.
* Players with an older birth year than most of their grade-mates would be playing on a team with children a school grade above them. The leagues grant exceptions only with a medical reason and documentation. If playing with grade-mates is important to your player, please join the Rivertowns AYSO recreational program, where teams are formed by school grade.
Rivertowns United Development Program
The development program provides supplementary training to high-potential Rivertowns AYSO recreational players who have been evaluated, identified, and recommended by their NYCFC Coaches. The target group for the U8 Pre-Travel Development Program is players who would join following year’s U9 travel teams. Beyond U8, there may be sessions for older age groups.
Development classes meet one weekday in the late afternoon or early evening during spring season for 60-minutes led by NYCFC Coaches. Parents are expected to stay to support their players. Dates, time, location and the nominal cost to register are provided to invited players via email.
